History

Sesshoumaru grew up with a silver spoon planted in his mouth thanks to his parents. His mother grew up in an affluent family, part of high society thanks to the money from a chain of hotels. His father's family owned Inu Industries, the largest steel manufacturer on the west coast. Sesshoumaru was born to them both when times were hard. Neither parent seemed to love each other and it was almost like he was supposed to be the child that saved the marriage. It didn't work and only a few years later, his parents walked away from each other.

He found himself bounced between his parents until his father started to settle down with another woman. Sesshoumaru didn't care for the new woman. He also didn't care for the new child -- Inuyasha -- that came out of their union. It bothered him, but it wasn't unbearable until his father died. Then he knew he could be screwed out of a lot of things, mainly the ownership of the company his father founded. It wasn't until later that he learned the details of his father's will. His second son was going to get the company as soon as he was able to.

This infuriated Sesshoumaru. He went to college, learning the ins and outs of business and how to run them fully intending to take the company from Inuyasha before his half brother even realized what was happening. He graduated summa cum laude with a business degree and went straight for the company he wasn't allowed to have under the guise that he'll step down when the time comes. Obviously, Sesshoumaru won't let this happen.

At this point in time, he is working at Inu Industries while taking evening classes at the university to obtain his M.B.A. He keeps in contact with his mother, having to visit the woman at least once a month so she can gossip about those around her.
